UK Weather: Turning Hot Over The Weekend
Cloudy today for most of the UK with showers of longer spells of rain and rather breezy too.
Heavy and persistent downpours for a while with the small risk of thunderstorms, especially across Wales, southwest England and northern England where there could be localised downpours.
There could be an additional 20-30mm of rain in some places.
It will feel warm for most of the UK and dry across East Anglia, southeast England and some parts of the Midlands and southern England during the afternoon.
These areas could reach highs of 28°C and humidity will be high for the South East.
It will remain warm into tonight with clear spells for the southeastern quarter of England.
Northern and western parts of England and southern and eastern Scotland will be cloudy with further pulses of rain.
The rain should become lighter towards the early hours of the morning.
The rest of Scotland and Ireland will have scattered showers.
On Saturday there will be cloudy skies first thing across Scotland, northern England and Wales clearing to reveal a dry and sunny day.
However, the best of the sunshine will be across southern and eastern parts of the UK, but there will be a risk of a few showers across eastern Scotland, northern England, Ireland, the north Midlands, Wales and south west England.
A warm and humid day for most, but hot across southern and eastern England with highs of 28-30°C or locally maybe up to 31°C.
Sunday will also remain hot and humid across the southeast of England and East Anglia as well as central and southern England and the east Midlands with lots of sunshine.
However with the heat there could be the risk of scattered thunderstorms breaking out with very heavy downpours, gusty winds and lightning.
A cloudier day across Wales, south west England, the Midlands and into Lincolnshire and northern England with showers breaking out, some heavy and thundery.
Sunshine and showers for Ireland and Scotland. Another hot day in the southeast of England and East Anglia.
